Virginia Highland Mardi Gras Fest 2026

Virginia Highland is bringing Bourbon Street vibes to Atlanta with the inaugural Virginia Highland Mardi Gras Fest, a lively community celebration that captures the spirit of New Orleans right in the heart of VaHi. 

The festivities begin at 12:00 PM with a high-energy parade down Virginia Avenue, featuring floats, bands, dancers, and neighborhood krewes adorned with beads and color. The parade route runs from Arcadia Street to North Highland Avenue, welcoming participants and spectators alike for a classic Mardi Gras atmosphere. 

Following the parade, the celebration continues with an after-party from 1:00–4:00 PM behind Fontaine’s Oyster Bar, where local vendors, live music, and festival food create a vibrant block party vibe. Attendees can enjoy live brass sounds, browse vendor booths, and savor a taste of New Orleans-inspired flavors with friends and family. 

This free, neighborhood-centered event is perfect for anyone looking to enjoy festive music, delicious bites, and community spirit, all with the unmistakable flair of Mardi Gras. 

Krewes interested in joining the parade can register to march, bike, or wheel a float and bring their own spirit and throws, a great way for local groups, businesses, and friend crews to participate.
